You can surrender your baby who is younger than 30 days old to any hospital, urgent care, fire or police station or ambulance with no fear of arrest or prosecution.
Accept A Surrendered Baby
If you work in a hospital, urgent care, fire or police station or are an ambulance driver, you can accept a surrendered infant, as long as the baby shows no signs of abuse and appears to be younger than 30 days old.
About Safe Haven
The Safe Haven Infant Protection Act allows a parent to surrender his or her infant with no fear of arrest or prosecution. No names or records are required.
